Love gaming and all things pop culture? If so, make plans to attend Pax South 2020! PAX South 2020 will be the sixth edition of the annual celebration of gaming and pop culture in San Antonio. Tens of thousands of families and friends, both locals and travelers from around the world, converge in San Antonio to play hundreds of the most anticipated upcoming games from the biggest names in gaming, local rising-star developers, and creators from across the globe. In 2004, the folks at Penny Arcade started PAX as a small, 4,500-person event to celebrate the culture and community around gaming of all genres and platforms. The show was so popular that by 2014, you could go to a PAX in three separate cities across two continents - but there still wasn't enough to go around. Turns out a lot of people like games, and quite a few aren’t on the East or West coasts. So, in 2015, the first PAX South opened its doors in San Antonio, Texas, welcoming gamers of all ages (and time zones) to a three-day celebration of gaming and the culture surrounding it.
No matter what type of gamer you are, if you've ever wanted to immerse yourself in games, PAX has a panel, tournament, concert, and place for you. Attendees can enter giveaways and meet the makers of their favorite games face-to-face. Bring in your personal computer to have available throughout PAX or play on computers already loaded with an array of the best LAN games around. Tabletop Freeplay has hundreds of tables and a lending library where you can check out games similar to how you might check out books in one of those other libraries. PAX has created a free, easy-to-use console game checkout system for all PAX attendees.
PAX South will be held from January 17th to January 19th at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Badges are $10.00 to $95.00 and are available for purchase at www.showclix.com.
